Below are brief descriptions of some of the most common problems in Otolaryngology.

We provide evaluation and treatment of nasal obstruction due to allergies, deviated septum and nasal polyps. Sinus disease, including acute and chronic sinusitis are common ailments that may require aggressive medical management, CT scans and possible surgical intervention.

For those who suffer from chronic for frequent sinus disease, balloon sinuplasty offers a minimally invasive alternative to traditional sinus surgery. This procedure is most often performed in the office with minimal recovery time.

Our evaluation of sleep apnea includes a complete head and neck exam to identify any structural abnormalities that are contributing to snoring and apnea. Surgical options are discussed. Our care is coordinated with a number of local Sleep Centers as a formal sleep study is generally required to assess the severity of the problem.

We provide evaluation and treatment for benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including throat, salivary glands and thyroid gland. We coordinate treatment with oncologists, radiation oncologists and regional cancer centers, if needed.

Common pediatric ENT problems include ear infections, tonsillitis and sleep disturbance caused by large tonsils and adenoids. Occasionally, these problems will require surgical treatment. We provide our youngest patients a gentle and caring touch. We are honored to gain your trust and do not take this obligation lightly. We are parents also, and understand how important this is!

A wide range of problems can occur in this area. From hoarseness due to a cold or vocal cord nodules, to swallowing disorders resulting from a neurologic problem, we can provide full evaluation. We coordinate care with speech/swallow therapists to provide the most thorough evaluation.

Hearing loss and tinnitus (ringing in the ears) are common ailments that can affect quality of life at any age. Our physicians and our doctors of audiology work together to evaluate the problem and provide solutions. Often this leads to hearing aid evaluations, which we provide in an honest manner.

Vertigo can be a frightening experience. Very often an inner ear dysfunction causes these symptoms and we are able to council, reassure and treat our patients to overcome the problem and understand the cause. If needed, our doctors of audiology can perform further testing of the inner ear balance functions.
