If your insurance requires a referral to see a specialist, we will not be able to schedule you until our office has received a valid referral. A valid referral contains the following:

• The “Referred To” section contains one of our doctors’ names, Montgomery County ENT, or The Centers for Advanced ENT Care.
• The referral must have a diagnosis relevant for the reason for your visit. For example: we can not accept a referral for impacted ear wax when you are coming in for sinus congestion.
• The referral must be complete in its entirety. This includes the reason for the visit and the number of allowed visits for the referral.

A special note: We are not Medstar physicians. If a referral is addressed as Internal to Medstar or any other organization, we will not be able to accept the referral.

All referrals must be either physically brought to the office or faxed to us at 301-774-0640 prior to scheduling. Once a referral has been sent to the office, please give us about an hour to receive it, then call 301-774-0074, Option 1, to schedule.
